As part of the exhibition Toyen, l'écart absolu, Benjamin Lazar's Théâtre de l'Incrédule company offered the Czech Center in Paris a reading of the play Le Roi Gordogane by Radovan Ivsic, for which Toyen made eleven masks- collages. This reading was recorded.

Le Roi Gordogane (1943) takes us into a devastated kingdom where a bloodthirsty despot kills even his own children. The "shadows that fly above nothingness" take the form of a wandering knight and a young creature inhabiting a rebellious forest of words.
