Donate to support the Ukrainian civilians’ fight for survival

Ukraine · 2025

In recent days I’ve accompanied volunteers in Ukrainian territories that were first occupied by Russia, later liberated by Ukraine, yet where fighting still rages. These areas stretch for kilometres of sheer destruction—houses, buildings, roads, bridges… It isn’t on the same scale of devastation as Gaza or Mariupol, but it is still a kind of hell that we Europeans can scarcely imagine without seeing it ourselves—and that’s before even considering what daily life is like there. Many residents have been killed, others have fled, some have stayed, and many have returned simply because they have nowhere else to go. Thus they live there under constant threat, with artillery fire echoing from every direction.

The Russian dictator has reiterated his intention to seize these territories, and the Russian army has amassed massive reinforcements at the border for a new offensive. In response, Ukrainian soldiers are holding the line, supported by civilians who supply them from their own limited resources, even though the average Ukrainian income is €150 and many have lost their jobs. Needless to say, any support we can provide makes a huge difference.

You can donate to the volunteers I accompanied via the PayPal address below. I can personally vouch that your contributions will be used directly to meet urgent, life‑saving needs for both civilians and military personnel.

I’m not asking you to choose between Ukraine and Palestine. I personally believe deeply that we should support both and fight colonialism wherever it occurs. I’m speaking about Ukraine because it is where I am right now.

Thank you
